I'm like a little girl.
Copeland was fucking phenomenal last night. It was one of the best shows I have ever been to. I love that band.
So we walk in about midway through the opening act (Lights - a indie hipster/bright color/keyboard/dancey band)and we mozy our way up to about where the sound board is (the show was packed!)and I look to my right and standing a foot away from me was Aaron from Copeland in all of his glory. I was too scared to say anything and I didn't want to make a big scene since he was in the middle of the crowd.
Anyways, Lydia was supposed to play next but they crashed their van into a deer the night before and totaled it. Love Drug came on instead. I never really could get into them when listening to them before the show and it didn't really change. They were good, but the singer's voice bothered me after a while.
Then Copeland came on. There was just an energy in the room and I could tell that it was going to be a good night. It started off with just Aaron singing and playing piano to Strange and Unprepared off of the new album. Then they played another song off of the new album before Aaron switched to guitar and they started playing old stuff. They went right into No One Really Wins and then When Paula Sparks. Hearing everyone sing along was so awesome. They then played a mix of old and new the rest of the night with Aaron switching back and forth between piano and guitar and even played Brightest off of their first album. It was beautiful. They ended their regular set with the song You Have My Attention. I know a lot of Copeland fans love this song, but I would have rather heard something else. Oh well.
They then came on for a one song encore and it was California. Just typing this right now is giving me the same chills that I felt last night. I'm going to assume most of you don't know the song, so I'll explain it. On the recording it is a 5:30 minute long song with the first 4:30 minutes being acoustic before it builds up to a full band ending. Basically, it's epic as fuck. Well, instead of doing it that way, they started off the song full band and skipped the first chorus. I was like, "ok, this is a little frustrating but I can dig this." It then got to where the second chorus is and that's when I started getting the chills. The whole band cut out except Aaron and he sang the chorus while just playing the chords on his guitar. Hearing everyone in the crowd sing along with the words and then have the full band come in just made it that much more spectacular.
This band rules and I can't wait to see them again.

GOOOOOOOO!
Last night's show was probably one of them most fun shows that I have played in a while. Everyone there was just having a good time. There were no scene bitches just there for the cred. It was all genuine people having a genuine good time.
I just realized that I'm going to see Copeland this Wednesday. YES!
Also, I haven't stopped listening to Razia's Shadow since I got it. Sooooooo good.

I've got my life in a suitcase
I got the new Copeland record yesterday. I bought the deluxe edition. It was well worth the $15 dollars. The packaging is awesome and the dvd that came with it was even better. I wish kids still got geeked up about album art and shit like that. I love just reading through the booklet and looking at all of the pictures. There's nothing better than throwing on the album and reading the lyrics at the same time. It really sets the mood.
Anyways, last night Byran came over and we met up with James Radick. We all ended up playing N64, eating pizza, and playing scrabble. Nerds? Yes. It was baller though. I stayed up way too late.
Durden is tomorrow!

2 days.
Go buy the new Copeland record this Tuesday. Then listen to the song "On the Safest Ledge". Absolutely stunning.
Don't look ahead, just run to me
Each step will find the next one recklessly
We'll find ourselves on the safest ledge
Well pardon me, I couldn't help myself
Girl, fall into your life here
If only for a while, I'm here
Could you be happy to fall like a stone
If you'd land right here safe in my arms?
It's fine, lock all your doors through the night
Keep it all right here, safe in my arms
It's fine, it's fine
You felt alone before you ever really knew how alone you were
An empty house, a lonely room
The TV talks the fear right out of you
But you feel like someone's standing by but you'll never know
Could you be happy to fall like a stone
If you'd land right here safe in my arms?
It's fine, lock all your doors through the night
Keep it all right here, safe in my arms
It's fine
The sun burns a hole straight through your old flaws
If you look toward the sky even on your greyest night
Could you be happy now, with the wind in your hair
And your eyes open wide and your feet going nowhere?
Could you be happy to fall like a stone
If you'd land right here safe in my arms?
It's fine, lock all your doors through the night
Keep it all right here, safe in my arms
It's fine
Don't look ahead, just run to me

Well, look what we've found
Holy shit. I finally heard the new Copeland record. Holy shit. This band never ceases to amaze me. I am beyond excited to see them live in a few weeks. It is going to be breathtaking.
Last night was very enjoyable.
I'm glad that some of you feel like you're looking out for me, but take it elsewhere. Seriously.

I don't know what to do.
With a heart so pure
You could fall so quickly
But don't you dare slow down for me
Were it not for hearts like mine
Calloused thickly
You could fall so easily
Don't you dare slow down for me)
You can take everything I have
Just don't leave my side no, don't leave my side
You can take everything I have
Just don't leave my side no, don't leave my side
Cause your words hit like a train and I can't ignore it
This moment could be our last
You fall in love and I'm running after
You move way too fast
But don't slow down
And don't let go
Hold me close now, lest I fall
They say I don't know how to love the right way
But you make me feel, you make me feel like I do
You can take everything I have
Just don't leave my side no, don't leave my side
You can take everything I have
Just don't leave my side now, don't leave my side

I need new shoes.
Not really, but these ones are getting super torn up.
I just took a Geography test and it fucked me up. I need to not internet during that class and not wait until the night before to start studying. I do know the location of most countries in Europe because of my late night studying. Too bad that was only a third of the test.
Copeland's beauty never ceases to amaze me. The two songs of the new album that I have heard get me way excited. Seeing them with Lydia is going to be a night of shear bliss.
